Giving you the opportunity for input into the Childcare Sector of the future

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS ACKNOWLEDGED

The Queensland childcare sector with support from the Queensland Government will launch ‘Early Childhood Educator’s Day’ at Kids of West End Childcare Centre 10am Friday 9 September with parents and children to raise awareness and support for the valuable work of the early years educators.

Queensland parents who are dropping off and collecting their children from childcare on Friday 9th of September are being asked to ‘thank an educator’ and show support of the State’s childcare sector educators.

With over 1500 childcare centres across Queensland employing over 30,000 educators, the childcare sector is the foundation to Queensland’s workforce and the early development of our children.

“The intent for Early Childhood Educator’s day is to reinforce to every educator in the early learning sectors just how much they are appreciated and respected for the valuable work they do with children in their early years,” Childcare Queensland CEO Gwynn Bridge said.

“Without the dedication of these educators, children would not receive the vital care and early learning that they need to ensure that they progress soundly though all of their developmental stages to finally being ready for “big” school,” Ms Bridge said.

“We ask employers, parents, children and the wider community to “thank an Educator” on Friday 9th September, the day Childcare Queensland has set aside to ensure that they do receive a reward of thanks and recognition for their efforts.”

Childcare Queensland is Australia’s largest state child care organisation with a membership of 880 long-day care centres, caring for 115,000 children, communicating with over 210,000 parents and representing 15,000 staff.
